Chantro

Chantro's sire, Sing Sing

Chantro (7 wins, 10 places), a half brother to champion racehorse Mummy’s Pet, came from fabulous old Thoroughbred lines and was the first stallion we used with our Shire mare, Morning Flashlight.

He ran out with his mares so it was a truly natural covering. Chantro’s sire Sing Sing was the unbeaten champion 2 yr old in 1959 and has one of the most sought after thoroughbred breeding lines of today. He had lots of bone, unlike modern thoroughbreds, and in fact, from an old photo we found on the web, he bore a great resemblance to our own Classic Snow Leopard – blaze and all!

His dam’s sire, Umidwar is recognised as the most influential thoroughbred stallion in sport horse breeding and was the foundation sire for the Selle Francais. A great many of the top competition horses of today can trace their pedigree back to him: such great names as the showjumpers Galoubet and Alme Z.

Chantro is the sire of our broodmare Run the Gauntlette (Small).

Classic: sired by Alzao

Classic has the bone to go with his size and is a free flowing straight mover, which is essential to breed eventers and show hunters.

Classic's first crop of foals in 1994 were outstanding in looks, temperament and movement, winning 15 first prizes in foal classes.

He is a very extravagant mover and his progeny include dressage, event, ridden hunter, point to point & hurdle winners. His latest runner under N.H rules Lady Misprint is a winner of a hurdle race in 2005 as well as 3 point to points.

His sire Alzao has already sired 6 individual Group 1 winners via; Second Set, Pass the Peace, Alpride, Wind in her Hair, Capricciosa and Alcando.
In the sales ring in 1995, his yearlings sold for 155,000gns,
1,000-000FF, 100,000gns. Now established as one of Europe's best stallions.

Classic is the sire of Classic Snow Leopard, Klassic Inchtuthil, Iorlith Herself and Touchatout.

Grafenstolz

Grafenstolz

Grafenstolz was awarded a premium at the 2000 Trakehner licensing in Neumünster as a two year old. He proved his versatile talents right from the very beginning in the sport, as a five year old winning several 1.25m level tests for showjumpers as well as medium dressage.

As a six year old he made German breeding history by becoming the first horse ever to qualify for the finals of the Jumping, Dressage and Eventing in the same year. He went on to win the eventing with an average score of 9.7 out of ten. This was followed later in the same year by him winning the World Championship for young event horses at Le Lion d'Angers, France.

In 2005 as a seven year old he won his first advanced level eventing competition. In 2006, as an 8 year old he won the bronze medal at the German Championships in Schenefeld, was then placed in two international three star competitions and won three international two star competitions. In November 2006 he received Trakehner Horse of the Year award given by the Trakehner Verband. In 2007 and 2008 he won at Compiegne. In 2007 he competed in a puissance class and cleared 2 metres or just under seven feet.

Most recently (Dec 2009) Grafenstolz competed in his first Prix St George and won it with 69%.

He is the sire of our filly Vaiorlith Elle Meme

Welton Ambassador

Tribute to Welton Ambassador

Welton Ambassador

The many friends of the Advanced Event Stallion Welton Ambassador will be very sad to hear that he was put down on Dec. 31st 2010 at the age of 25.

As a 2yr old he won the Sports Horse Section of the BWB Stallion Grading and went on to have a brilliant, but short Eventing Career with Leslie Law, being Advanced at the end of his 6th year.

By Welton Louis, his dam Minerva was a full sister to Ginny Elliot's great horse Nightcap ( Ben Faerie ) Ambassador had a wonderful character, with a typical Welton temperament.

Of the many horses he sired, a good percentage became Advanced and his very first mating as a 2yr old, to Bridget Parker's Cornish Faere produced Cornish Envoy, who was placed 6th at Burghley. He has stock all around the world and has certainly been a true Ambassador, and will be much missed.

Welton Ambassador is the sire of our filly Abyssinia.
